I am doing a clean install so not using Migration Assistant. Migrating Mojave Photos Library to Catalina I am trying to migrate my Photos Library.photoslibrary file from my 2012 MacBook Pro running Mojave, to my new MacBook Pro which has Catalina, 10.15.1. There are no other files on mac with name Photos Library I also noticed a small file called "Photos Library.photoslibrary" (<1 KB) in my Pictures folder and not sure what it is. I don't want to lose all the albums I organized in Photos (previously iPhotos a few years ago). I assume there must be a corrupted preference but not sure where it is. Zapping pram or resetting macmini by shutting down and disconnected power for 5 min. I also repaired Photos Library several times using option/command when opening. I selected the correct Photos Library when opening by holding option key down. When I reopen Photos, the link to the particular image is now set, but same problem with any other image. Photos opens ok and all my albums are there, but when I click on a picture, Photos asks me to locate original image: when I do this, Photos unexpectantly quits. Photos in Catalina quits when I am asked to locate original image Photos worked fine on an external disk that I replaced, so I moved my folder with all my photos (image files) back to my user directory and put the folder with all my photos (mostly in subfolders) and the Photos Library into my Pictures folder. The external hard drive is in the format it should work with Photos no problem, at least it was working fine with Mojave. The file "Photos.library" is also located on this drive. I have a 4TB external firewire hard drive connected to my iMac, and all photos are stored on this device. I tried the option-command open Photos to restore/repair the library, but that didn't help. So none of the photo files are missing-I just have to click on "Locate" and then "Open" to fix the problem, but there are over 50,000 photos in my library I can't do this for all of them. I have to do this for each and every photo, when it seems all photos are referenced correctly. I simply click "Open" and then the Missing file error doesn't show up for all photos in that folder. I click the "Locate file" and the folder opens, showing me the file in question. The original photo “xxxxxxx.JPG” is either offline or cannot be found. "Photos with unavailable original files cannot be opened. After I clean-installed Catalina on my iMac, when I run Photos I get a pop-up window: "Missing file in Photos," followed by
